Fire Extinguisher Training

Aim

To develop knowledge of fire extinguisher use and awareness of basic fire safety.

Who Should Attend?

Any member of staff or any personnel within organisations who could be engaged in first aid fire fighting.

Course Content

• The Fire Triangle
• Fire classification
• Types of fire extinguishers
• Operation of fire extinguishers
• Inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers

By the end of the course, students will understand the following principles:

• Basic principles of fire.
• Selection of correct extinguishers.
• Safe operation of extinguishers.
• The principles of extinguishing media.
• Practical use of extinguishing media on live fires under controlled conditions.
• Appreciation of the speed of development and spread of fire.

Training Methods

After the theory comes the practice, outside of course, with a live fire demonstration.
